Here you will find images of some of my art and a little information about what inspires me and how I go about my work.
I am interested in people, how we live, what we do and how we feel. I like to paint people within their environment. I observe small moments of interaction between groups or between an individual and their surroundings.
Many of my paintings may be inhabited by figures whose presence appears to be enigmatic, distant or obscured. My paintings are figurative but not literal; to me they are sensual. Inspiration comes to me from observation.
As a painter I use a variety of media, both wet or dry, but currently work mainly with oils on wood, canvas or paper.
I have lived in Cornwall for many years. I grew up in Kent and spent periods of a few years living and working in Canada, Scotland and Texas and now also spend time visiting family in Australia. All these experiences and environments have an impact on my art.
